Welcome to the Get Well Nel Just Giving page, thank you for visiting :-) This page is a crowd funder to help Nel pay for cancer treatments and therapies unavailable on the NHS, with the help of the charity Yes to Life.
Nel had Leukemia at the age of 10. She was treated with large doses of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a bone-marrow transplant. It was an incredibly traumatic time for her and her family, and no one was sure if she would pull through. Thankfully, after 4 years of treatment, at the age of 14 Nel was given the all clear. She was cancer free for 15 years. In 2011 Nel was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
Choosing what to do treatment wise was incredibly hard for Nel, and it was the biggest shock of her life to be diagnosed with cancer for the second time. Now Nel is now living with stage IV breast cancer.
The doctors told Nel that having more chemo could cause serious damage to her heart immune system ands bone marrow, and Nel chose not to have any more. She decided to have surgery, hormone therapy, and treatment with an integrated cancer specialist; but the cancer was very aggressive, and it spread to her bones.
Her conventional doctors cannot offer her a cure, only hormone therapies that might slow the growth of the tumors in her bones.
During the last 2 years, Nel has met some incredible men and women, who have healed from very advanced cancers, using various alternative therapies, who have inspired her on her own healing journey. One of these is *Fiona Shakeela Burns*.

Nel is currently following an integrative cancer regime, which is described in detail in the Nel’s Current Treatments section.
Sheis unable to work, as she gets very tired. At the beginning of her treatment Nel was trying to finance all her therapies, as well as her day-to-day living costs, with the government benefits she receives. But government benefits are not nearly enough to pay for these kinds of treatments!
Thankfully, with the help of Just Giving, and many wonderful generous givers, we have raised the money that Nel has needed to pay for her integrative cancer regime thus far.
However, this regime has not been enough to halt the cancer’s growth.
We want to raise the money to pay for new and advanced therapies for her. We also want Nel to be able to continue to pay for the treatments that have been keeping her alive and shiny.
There have been some great fundraisers so far, including a Skydive team of eight of Nel’s best friends jumping out of a plane for her (see pictures), a Bristol bike race, and the Raffle of all Raffles, with tickets to Secret Garden party as one of the prizes!
Our overarching aim is to restore her to complete health!
Nel is now looking into starting two intensive therapies:

She will have to pay for both of these therapies. Their total cost runs into the thousands.

Nel’s Current Treatments
Nel is currently supporting herself using an intensive homeopathic regime, a great diet and juicing, incredible supplementary herbs, mushrooms, and phytonutrients, meditation, yoga and tai chi. She also has practitioners who help her with the emotional load that comes with living with a life threatening disease.
All of these therapies have been paid for by donations from incredibly generous people like you!
Nel has also invested her Disability Living Allowance in paying a Helper team, run by Casssie and Mia, to come and make her veggie juices and organise her array of supplements, as well as doing housework that Nel can't do.

DCA (Sodium Dichloroacetate) - works by making cancer cells switch the way they produce energy away from straight sugar burning via their mitochondria, meaning they are recognised by other cells and killed normally.
Bio-vitamin D3 - vitamin D inhibits the growth of breast cancer cells
Krill Oil - Contains high levels of omega-3 which is proven to be anti-cancerous and cancer preventing.
Blockbuster enzymes - certain enzymes digest and remove the protective protein coating from cancer cells, allowing white blood cells to identify and attack them.
