Challenge Adventure Charities - The Alpine Challenge · 25 September 2009 ·

For 25 years, we have organised cycle events, mainly in Europe. We have raised a huge £4,378,361 mainly for cancer, heart and other medical research. We pride ourselves that EVERY PENNY that has been raised has been paid to charity - our participants paying the full fees for event entry themselves.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We’re off on the Alpine Challenge during the last weekend of September 09 as one of 60 teams of four to cycle in relay over 500 miles in three days from Laon in northeastern France to Annecy in the French Alps. We plan to raise a minimum of £1000 for charity.  Half will go to the Naomi House Children’s Hospice which has suffered badly from the Icelandic banking collapse and needs as much help as it can get at the moment. The other half will be split equally between Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Come on people – the team’s called Never Too Old but between us we’ve got 1 knee injury, 1 bad back, 1 bad shoulder and, to be frank, it’s becoming a bit of a misnomer and we should be thinking about donning comfy slippers and cardigans with leather patches and sitting in front of the telly to watch Countdown.  We've got to ascend more than 9,300 metres vertical distance over the route .  Please salute our madness with lots of cash for good causes.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
