Story
So, there’s a fat man, a thin man, a ginger and a priest climbing up
a mountain…
Actually, it’s three mountains and this is not a joke. In August this
year Andy Fletcher, Joel Taylor, Matt Jordan and Paul Thomas will be
making an attempt on the legendary Three Peaks Challenge, the object
of which is to climb the tallest mountains in Scotland, England and
Wales – that’s Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon respectively – and
to do it all in a scarcely believable 24 hours. To make this possible
they also need a wheelman and, with B.A. Baracus annoyingly
unavailable, Richard Porter has stepped up with a blagged Land
Cruiser and a boot full of pies.
This is no small undertaking, in fact it’s difficult to the point of
deranged, but their wheezing and localised blistering will not be in
vain since they’ll be raising money for an extremely worthy cause
Children's Hospices UK, supporting children's hospices throughout the UK and the children and families who use them.
Training has now begun in earnest and nothing will spur the boys on
as much as a generous slew of donations. Except perhaps Scotch.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Children's Hospices UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
