Our team were aiming to complete 10 South Coast swims in one season. Where safe, we attempted to complete the swims without wetsuits.
Photos of the 8 swims completed are on the left.
List of Swims (mileage in brackets), with link to a map of the swim (NB: We tried to go into November, but it was getting dangerous to swim for more than an hour, even with a wetsuit, so we've had to admit defeat after 8 swims. We swam a total of 19.2 miles or 1229 lengths of a standard swimming pool):
1. Clacton Pier to Holland (2.3) - not completed

2. Eastbourne Pier to Marina (2.1) - completed 11th July (nice swim, but had the constant fear of contracting a Jet-Ski related headache)

3. Brighton Pier to Pier (1.0) - completed 26th June (beautiful morning; The Guvn'r had an awesome swim!)

4. Brighton Pier to Marina (3.5) - completed 8th August (thought it would never end and had a minor Jellyfish incident, but all good)

5. Stokes Bay (1.5) - completed 13th June (bit nippy, but calm!)

6. Bognor Regis (3.1) - not completed

7. Brownsea Island Swim (4.6) - completed 25th July (sore knees and gashed stomach, but round in one piece)

8. Bournemouth Pier to Pier (1.4) - completed 24th July (bit bouncy, but beautiful sunny day and no Jellyfish, despite the warnings)

9. Worthing Pier to Kingston (3.6) - completed 17th October (crisp clear day with no wind; bit too cold for a swimskin, so the wetsuit's out for the next one)

10. Hastings to St Leonard's (1.5) - completed 10th October (from what's left of the Pier to St Leonards; bit nippy, so resorted to a swimskin)
