We invest in advanced hospital facilities to save and improve lives

Story

As reporters for the News & Mail and Star Courier newspapers, we spend almost every day talking to people who are doing sponsored runs, walks, jogs, crawls, swims, shaves, hops, skips and jumps.

Now it's our turn.

Despite the fact that, in general, we do our best to perpetuate the image of the reporter as hard-drinking and fast-living, with a poor diet made up of all-day breakfasts, takeaways and cigarettes, we are spending the next few weeks hard in training, puffing, panting, and killing ourselves in an entirely new way.

We're going to be raising money for the Frimley Park Hospital Heart 2 Heart Appeal, which was formed to build a new specialist heart unit at the hospital, which serves people living in Frimley, Camberley, Farnborough, Aldershot, Fleet, Ash, Farnham, Sandhurst and Crowthorne. Covering this area for news as we do, we're aware of the great work that the staff at the hospital do, and the importance of having a dedicated unit to help doctors fight the UK's biggest killer - heart disease.

So thanks for visiting our page and please donate a few quid to a good cause - and make our efforts and blisters worthwhile.
