The park is run by Newstead Enterprise - a company created by a partnership established between CAST an alternative education project, Future Newstead – a group of local organisations and individuals representing the Newstead community, and the local charitable organisation, Rural Community Action Nottinghamshire (RCAN), to help create a better future for the community of Newstead. We are run by volunteers who care passionately about the village, the Park and creating a legacy for future generations.

The Park is 220 acres and is situated on the site of the former colliery pit tips. The whole area has amazing wildlife interest and the village is working with a number of environmental groups to protect and enhance the area, half of which is a ‘Site of Importance for Nature Conservation’.

At the heart of our Park is our eco-build Visitor Centre - based on the Earthship method of construction - being a building which is pushing the boundaries of green technology and hand built by members of our community. Along with the existing lakes that provide a perfect sanctuary for wildlife, we are also developing several angling lakes for commercial and alternative education purposes.

When the park is completed we are hoping to offer a great range of family and inter-generational events, activities and workshops including angling lakes, keep fit activities, family events and of course we will still be hosting the annual music festival “Headstock” which is run in September.

We welcome everyone to our park - and will gladly provide tours to other communities who want to find out what we've done and how - part of our vision is to help inspire other communities across the UK to set up similar ventures.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
