many thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. I'm going to be doing the 3 Peaks Challenge in August 2010 raising funds for the Haematology Charitable Fund at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire where I work as a Senior Biomedical Scientist in the Haematology Department.

Raising money for the UHNS Haematology Charitable Fund is important to me because as part of my job  I see how diseases such as Leukaemia, Myeloma, Lymphoma and other haematological conditions can severely affect a persons quality of life.

The UHNS NHS Trust Haematology Charitable Fund is used to purchase non-essential equipment whether it's a piece of laboratory equipment that will aid the diagnosis and monitoring of these diseases, or maybe niceties such as televisions and dvd players (things we take for granted) for patients to use during their prolonged stay in hospital.

The 3 Peaks Challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon all within a 24 hour period - that's 40km and 2984m of ascent and descent. BUT....I think I'm up to the task - for those of you that know me well you'll know that I never quit and I believe this is something I can achieve. So please help me meet my target and sponsor me for my challenge. It is a cause that is close to my heart and together we can help make a difference.
