By 12 noon on Friday 28 August, the total number of donations had increased to 239 and the amount donated to £14,626.

Including Gift Aid, the amount donated is now £ 17,300.

I remain overwhelmed by the generosity that has been shown by so many. Thank you all very much.

The photograph opposite is published for the benefit of those who did not believe that I could do the Bike Ride nor that I would wear Lycra. It was taken at Brighton racecourse after the event, I am wearing a finisher's badge and the mark above my head is a seagull.

Personal appearances in the Lycra can be arranged in return for substantial further donations to the wonderful BHF.
