Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 12th July, myself and an elite team of equally unfit like minded individuals will be partaking in a 50mile bike ride around District 20, or 'The Tour De Lancs'
This route will be a full tour of the district, starting in Rawtenstall, then proceeding on to Darwen, Blackburn, Nelson, Burnley and (at some point, hopefully on the same day) returning to Rawtenstall, battered bruised and probably unable to sit down for some time.
We will be undertaking this tour on Mountain Bikes only and not the much easier road bike option, which will add considerably to the challenge we will face. In the interests of common decency no lycra will be worn!
The route will encompass some horrendous roads and climbs (Grane road anyone?) but the rewards will hopefully be worth it. We all know someone that has been affected by cancer and the impact that has had on themselves and their families lives. My wife and I have three boys and I cannot imagine the devastation being told one of them had cancer would bring to us, or how we would cope with that diagnosis.... CLIC Sargent provides clinical, practical and emotional support to children affected by cancer and their families, helping them to cope with cancer and get the most out of life.
Please support in any way you can.
My personal aim is to raise £300, an amount that could fund a CLIC Sargent Compassionate grant to help a bereaved family pay for their childs funeral......
Thanks
