Story
On July 20th myself and some friends will attempt what is considered by many to be the toughest stage of the Tour du France - Mont Ventoux. The ride involves about 150k of pretty hilly terrain through Provence - followed by 21k straight up Mt. Ventoux (average gradient of 7.6%). It is unlikely to take me less than 2 hours to do this climb. I have completely changed all the gears on my bike just to give me an evens chance of getting up! The key, 'apparently', is not to get tired over the first 150k...
Earlier this year one of our team at Lloyds, Rob Folkes, came off his bike while out riding. He is now in Stoke Mandeville where he is receiving excellent treatment for a spinal injury. It feels very appropriate to be out raising money for this great charity. Thank you for your support.
