The NSPCC's purpose is to end cruelty to children and our vision is of a Society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. In September 2008, the NSPCC launched its Child’s Voice Appeal to answer more children’s cries for help. Every day, thousands of children and young people need to talk to ChildLine about a problem they face, while hundreds of caring adults call the NSPCC Helpline, worried about a child’s safety.

My story

Thank you for visiting my London Marathon fundraising page.

As many of you know, this is my third attempt at the London Marathon, with the first two ending in injury that affected my time - though at least I completed the course. This time I hope to get round in one piece to help raise money for the NSPCC.

Given the fact I'm known for genealogy and investigating the past, it's easy to forget that there are many children who face real problems in their everyday lives, and that we need to make an effort to tackle these issues today to stop a legacy of abuse or cruelty being passed on.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me and help me raise lots of money: NSPCC gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please dig deep and give what you can.
