It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page with your donation.   We are hoping to make a difference to the lives of children in need of medical attention.

We hope that you dig deep, as although we face no longer than 10 minutes of pure fear this is what a lot of the children experience on a daily basis with conditions they are battling, or when they are being taken to hospital.

Many of us with children in the Birmingham and surrounding areas will have already had dealings with this wonderful hospital or will at least know of someone that has.  Many people travel far and wide for the amazing care that is provided at this specialist children’s hospital.

The founder of The Mad Hatters has 2 children who both have had medical complications as young babies and have been cared for by BCH.

"My eldest daughter suffers predominantly from epilepsy which can effect 1 in 20 of us.   After being diagnosed with the condition by the Children’s hospital and after numerous emergency visits, usually by ambulance it became a massive goal for me personally, to help give back and raise as much money as possible.  I cannot begin to describe the kindness of the staff and the professionalism of the doctors who work in all of the wards (and there have been many) that myself and my girls have dealt with, which have been there helping ensure my child has as normal a life as possible, and in the emergency situatuations making sure she gets better.

After proposing my next challenge to a colleague we decided to rope as many people in as we could to help.  This is why we are THE MAD HATTERS.  I mean really who jumps face first off a building??????????"

So please tell you friends, let your work colleagues know and inform your families.  Every donation that is made on this page will help to save a life or at least help make it easier for a young child to receive the medical care they need.

Only one thing to do guys .........donate, donate, donate, and don’t forget to gift aid it gets the hospital more cash!!!!!

Thank you in advance!!!
