This is a page I set up for general donations, and for anyone who asks me to line & sign a book at a signing.

The rationale for the latter is simple: lining & signing is something many authors refuse to do. It's a bit irksome and dull, and it comes between me and the glass of scotch the festival or the bookshop owner or whoever has promised me after I've finished my event. It's also something which is more often than not the province of dealers rather than ordinary readers - in other words, there's a profit being made.

Rather than be grumpy about it, I thought I'd put all that energy to use. So I will line & sign to your heart's content - provided you put some pennies in the slot here. (If you're going to ask me to do any serious numbers, it would be nice if you'd contact my publisher direct and we'll set up an occasion just for you.)

Obviously, if no one does it, I'll have to think of something else!

A word about Reprieve itself: it is a small group locked in a desperate struggle to prevent the immense momentum of fear and anger generated by terror attacks around the world from destroying the foundations of our justice systems. It's about forcing our governments to obey the laws which define who we are, which stop us from being the bad guys in the world.

In other words, at the moment, Reprieve is quite simply functioning as our society's conscience.

Shame it's so small, really.
