Story
I am a second year History student at the University of Warwick and this year I wanted to make a difference and contribute towards a special charity like Make-A-Wish. I am keen to give something back to society having had a life-saving operation when I was 5 days old.
Make-A-Wish foundation aims 'to grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions'. Children with life-threatening illnesses often spend their lives in hospitals, surrounded by diagnoses and worry. A child's life shouldn't be about this. Supporting this excellent charity makes a difference by bringing priceless happiness, hope and lifelong memories to the children and their families.
Make-A-Wish UK has granted over 9,000 wishes to seriously ill children. This is all thanks to the generous donations of normal people. Here is just one example of how your donations can help:

In order to fundraise for Make-A-Wish, I have set myself the task of completing the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in September. This involves 6 days of trekking through mountainous terrain over 4,000m high. Though just a fraction of the struggle endured by the children supported by Make-A-Wish, reaching the peak will be a considerable personal achievement, and this is why I feel it is a necessary and worthwhile challenge.
The challenge is run by the University of Warwick's Raising and Giving Society. The work of Warwick RAG is outstanding and exemplary, raising over £300,000 last year for local, national and international charities, and I want to help them raise even more.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page, I really appreciate any donations you can make.
