I've lost count of the times when someone really special to me has woken up to learn their world is about to change. Strong, resilient people who have just got on with it...... dealing with cancer, that is.

Cancer is something which can happen to ordinary people. People like us. It's hard to understand why it happens and who will get it. But the admiration I have for their courage and strength, makes these people extraordinary.

That's why I want to do something amazing to support the work of three women's charities fighting breast, cervical and ovarian cancers.

In June 2013, I will join an incredible group of women prepared to challenge themselves for a great cause, cycling 400k through Kenya over five days from the slopes of the majestic Mount Kenya to the shores of Lake Victoria, through savannah plains, wildlife game parks and tropical rainforests.

My aim is to raise a minimum of £3,000 to help those touched by cancer. And here's how you can help too.
