After doing the 5km race for life a few times, this year I thought I'd be a bit more ambitious. A walk for everyone at work was the first to be put in the calendar - a 15mile hike around Charnwood in mid November. Before long a friend suggested joining her and a few others on the Chatsworth Challenge in September - a 25 miler over what was, we discovered, a rather hillier route than expected. In the end 9 of us completed this in a creditable 9 hours and as you can see from the photo still standing and smiling. Sandwiched betwee these two walks is a 10km run in Derby with some friends from Walton on 11 October. I've now done this - my first 10km - in 1 hour 1 min (more than a little annoyed at that minute!). A tough but rewarding 3 challenges in 3 months -  I hope you agree and would like to support me by donating to the Rainbows Childrens Hospice.
