I know many of you may have suspected it already...but officially at the end of May 2008 I intend joining the 'madman' club in aid of the Dingley Wish Fund at Reading District Hospital Qualification as officially 'mad' comes from taking on each of the 3 ascents of Mont Ventoux, in 1 day – 'Les Cingles de Mont Ventoux' challenge. Mont Ventoux has been the source of legendary Tour de France finishes - it isn't the highest summit but it is an absolute killer of a climb and the only climb that Lance himself ever feared. I'm hoping that the pain and distress this challenge will cause me will encourage you to dig in your pockets for a great cause!!! My cause is the Dingley Specialist Center at Reading Hospital and it is a fantastic facility with dedicated staff that help with Children with neurodevelopmental disorders, musculoskeletal problems or respiratory conditions Despite their dedication and capability, NHS budgets don't quite stretch the extra mile and I want to do something about it. In taking on 'Les Cingles' I want to raise money for Dingley so they can buy a set of specially adapted children's bikes to help with remedial therapy Having seen my son Ben benefit from the independence his new wheels offer and from the development in motor skills this exercise brings, I would love to have other families benefit too. If you can help by sponsoring me, I promise your cash will make a real difference and will bring about some very big smiles on the kids at the Dingley Center Many thanks in advance! Nick
