Story

4th October:

The Tacheback appeal is now over, and the Tache has gone. Thank-you to everyone who sponsored me. I can't believe how generous everyone has been. Your money really has gone to an excellent cause.

28th Sept:

OK, I've done it. I am now sporting a semi-tache.

27th September:
Well everyone, thanks to you we haven't only beaten the £200.00 target, we've kicked the absolute crap out of it! Unfortunately I seem to recall pledging to remove the right hand side of my furry friend if the total raised reached £300.00. Unfortunately for me, the moment I said that, the total immediately hit almost £400.00. Ah well, don't let it be said that I go back on my word. I intend to spend two days sporting just the left hand side (my favourite side) from the 29th (which just happens to be the day that I return to University) The 30th is the birthday of my son, Jacob, and I hope he can find it in his heart to forgive me one day. Thanks for all your donations so far. It really is for an excellent cause. And men, remember: Lumpy Ball? Give the Doc a Call! Nick Original Message Reads: Hi everyone. I'm sending this message to everyone I know to try to raise as much money as I can for the Institute of Cancer Research. The ICR runs the Everyman campaign to raise awareness of male cancers, and this year they are running a fundraiser called "Tacheback" - For the month of September only it is suddenly cool to have a moustache again! I am aiming to raise about £200.00 for the charity - and that's where you come in - Could you please sponsor me for as much or as little as you can so that I can reach my target. Many of you will know that I had Testicular Cancer myself a few years ago, so it is a cause that is very close to my heart, but it is also an illness that affects one in three people in their lifetime, so it's a cause that is close to the heart of almost every family. There are many reasons why growing a Tache is an excellent way to raise funds: 1. It makes me feel manly 2. It requires virtually no effort on my part 3. It is handy when auditioning for Village People tribute bands I will be posting a picture of my Tache progress on this site twice a week throughout September, so keep checking to make sure I'm not cheating. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Institute of Cancer Research & Everyman will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support. Nick Smart
