I only started horse riding barely 2 years ago and within 9 months was fortunate enough to be able to buy my own pony. His name is Jasper and he is an apaloosa cob who is now 6 years old. He has changed my life and I love him to bits. He has a whole locker full of rugs, groomimg kit and other necessities of life including sparkly blue feed buckets! Rarely a day goes by when he doesn't get an apple or carrot and he is free to graze and play with his friends every day. He is now on loan and I have recently acquired a new 15'2hh mare called Fifi who is a connemara x TB.

Some horses are not so lucky and the degree of suffering imposed on them by humans defies belief. I want to be able to put something back into the 'horsey world' which has given me so much.

I am taking part in the 'Transylvanian Challenge' in Romania 15-25 August 2009 which will help provide funding for 'Project Romania' where training teams offer Romanians the opportunity to learn how to feed, shoe and harness their horses using humane and sustainable methods. Funds raised from this challenge will go straight back into Romania.

The cost of the trip is around £1200 which I have decided to fund myself. The remaining £800 I am raising and as you can see have nearly reached my target.
