Cardiac Risk in the Young Verified by JustGiving
RCN 1050845 (England & Wales), SC052581 (Scotland)
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

As you may know, our friend Andrew Cannon died suddenly on 2 November 2007 with an undiagnosed heart condition.

Andy was a keen Exeter City fan who first started watching Exeter City in the mid-70s along with his father George and continued to do so despite moving to Bournemouth in his late teens. He went on to help to form the South Coast Grecians, one of City’s groups for exiled supporters.

Andy is much missed by all his family and friends.

We are doing the 8km CRY Heart of London Bridges sponsored walk on July 20. We'll be walking over 8 London bridges, each one representing the life of one of the 8 apparently fit and healthy people that die of this condition each week.

The arduous part for us will be the possibility of having to listen to the Patron of CRY, Kathryn Harries, sing soprano!

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cardiac Risk in the Young gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
