Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are raising money for the Evelina Children's Hospital who were so brilliant when our daughter Evelyn was seriously ill with Group A Streptococcal septicaemia. She spent 10 days in intensive care and a further 11 days on the renal ward after suffering acute renal failure. She then returned to the Evelina a month later for a partial foot amputation due to vascular comprimise related to her septicaemia, and the ongoing care with that. Without the expert care Evie received she would not have survived this terrible illness. We can never say thank you enough for giving us our daughter back. Please help us to make our best efforts at doing so by donating to their cause.

So far we have held a 2nd birthday party for Evie and requested donations from friends and family instead of buying gifts for her, and I have also won some money for the hospital thanks to the Justgiving facebook page and their likeathon competition. From here Evie's sisters aged 7 and 5 have agreed to do a sponsored swim (100m each) on 21st January 2012 to help us raise more money. Although they didn't know at the time how poorly she was, we have tried to help them understand a little more since then about it all and how wonderful the hospital were to save their sister.

You can read the full story of Evie's illness at http://mylifeandotheranimals.wordpress.com/ The write up starts in July 2011 and these entries will be found in the archive in the menu on the right side of the page.
