Story
In October I’m joining a group of volunteers from The Fostering Network on a challenging 30 mile steep trials trek in diverse and breathtaking mountainous country to the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu in Peru. We climb 4200m or 12,000ft high into the Andes (three times the height of Ben Nevis!)
This trip holds huge spiritual meaning for me, whilst also enableing me to raise money for the many foster children less fortunate than ourselves who are placed in care within the Fostering Network every year.
I am a full time foster carer myself and am passionate about raising money for the Fostering Network. To help improve the lives of the thousands of children and young people who are among the most traumatised, vulnerable and troubled young people in Britain.
Many of these children will move foster homes three times in a year. They are four times more likely to have a mental health disorder, three times more likely to be convicted of a criminal offence and 75% will leave school without any qualifications.
Foster Care works well in so many instances. Providing families and positive surroundings for those who for various reasons, aren’t fortunate enough to be able to live with their own parents.
So I ask for your help! Please dig deep and sponsor me online and help me to raise money to make a difference in these children’s lives.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Fostering Network will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and thank you so much for your support.
