Story
On the 25th March 2012 I am bound for Kiruna in Sweden, 145kms North of the Arctic Circle to take part in the challenge, and adventure, of a lifetime!
The task is to drive my own team of huskies over 200kms through Swedish Lapland in just five days. My expedition will take me through snow covered forests, over frozen lakes and on into the mountains in temperatures that can vary from -5C to -45C!
Each day will start early by feeding and harnessing my dogs, then loading the sled up with my kit. Once out on the trail I will help my team by pushing and running along side the sled whilst we negotiate uphill or tricky terrain. We will overnight in wilderness cabins where there will be no running water or electricity. After seeing to my dogs again each evening, I will then be helping with fetching water, chopping firewood and preparing dinner for the team. It's certainly going to be a challenge, but I can't wait! :0)
My employers, Peterson SBS Ltd, have very kindly agreed to sponsor my trip, so please be assured that all of your donation will go directly to Macmillan, and none of it will be used against any of my trip costs. Please help me to raise as much as possible for this great cause.
Donating through JustGiving is quick, easy and totally secure. If you're a taxpayer remember to tick the Gift Aid box so your donation becomes worth 25% more to Macmillan, at no additional cost to you.
Together we are making a difference!
