At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In recent years, a number of my friends have had to cope with a parent who has been affected by symptoms of dementia, and I know how distressing this has been for both them and their parents. Lloyds Banking Group has chosen the Alzheimer's Society as their charity for 2013, and the Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge is one of the events expected to raise a significant portion of the total funds.

To mark my "big" birthday earlier this year, I wanted to do something to improve my fitness levels and needed something to motivate me. The Coast to Coast Challenge is a great focal point for reaching my fitness goal, as success is imperative, knowing that the Alzheimer's Society have put their faith in me!

I'll be updating this page to show how I'm getting on with preparing for the epic cycle journey, and the dates of the fund raising events I'm planning in.
