In November 2003, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, after which I was operated on and underwent 6 months of chemotherapy. On the 1st anniversary of my surgery I completed a 240 mile bike ride in 2.5 days (Bike to the Future 2004), to raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer and to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Since then I have since completed a further 143 mile bike ride from Coast to Coast (Whitehaven to Tynemouth). The total raised by those completing the rides was around £16,500. Through both of these ventures, as well as my return to 'normal' life, I have been supported by my partner Sue and our two daughters, Rosa and Immi.
I recognise that I am fortunate in being one of the survivors from this disease, and want to continue 'celebrating' this survivorship by publicising the work and support provided by Pancreatic Cancer UK . To this end, the whole family will running on April 9th, Sue and myself in the half marathon, and Rosa and Immi in the Green Park Challenge.
Please feel free to sponsor us online.
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page, and if you want to get any further information about Pancreatic Cancer, please contact the Pancreatic Cancer UK website (www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk)
