Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

THANK YOU for landing here on my fundraising page !

** NEWSFLASH ** ================================= I DID IT :-) Was a great sunny day - beautiful sunshine, if a bit warm for running. Was well pleased with time - 3:28:17 and boy do my calves feel like it! So for all those considering sponsoring and just making sure I did complete it there you go - and the evidence is there on londonmarathon.org -running number 50787, Debbie's is 29319. A BIG THANK YOU to all those who came to support us. =================================================

Well it seems a bit last minute, and quite a tall order but here I am with two challenges - one to train and succeed at running my longest distance race to date; and second to raise £2000 for a very worthy cause in a short space of time.

So here's where you come in :-)

I'll agree to get up in the cold, dark, wet, weekday mornings and go running in all weathers, suffer the blisters, achy limbs, muscle strains, long runs for hours at the weekends in embarassing bright colours and tights that would best be worn in a circus, and YOU... you - all you have to do is show your encouragement by donating some cash on this site. Sounds reasonable ? Great ! Thank you.

Oh and if you want a really good laugh, you could come and support and jeer at me on the day in my orange vest top !!

So why MS Society ? Well, this is the charity which helped, supported and funds research into the disease from which my girlfriend Debbie's Mum died 14 years ago, and one she has raised money for in the past too. And so I am pleased to be able to help too, in Debbie's mum's memory.

And Debbie is running too, so you will be supporting us both in your donation so please dig deep! Oh, and she is a fast (sub 3:30) runner, so pity me with the additional challenge of not disgracing myself (Im not even going to try and say beat her, cos I wont !)

Update: 5th April Well, yesterday I just did my longest run ever! just over 22 miles - supposed to be the max before tapering down (yes DOWN!) to 18 next weekend Debbie tells me... And whilst it hurt abit my training is paying off and I'm doing ok. Last weekend, we both completed the Reading Half Marathon as part of the training - pretty respectable 1:36:02. So I'm doing my bit on the training front - lets see how we can do to get my total up - tell your friends ;-) Thanks

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain & Northern Ireland gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Thank you.
