Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I am raising money in memory of John - my father in law- who passed away recently after a short illness . He was a man I would like to hope my children aspire to be like in the way he handled himself with pride, dignity and independance. He lost part of his speech 15 years ago to a stroke and I know just how hard it made life for him but he never complained . So if I can do some good for the Stroke Association and help others like him to retain their independance it must be a good thing.
I am cycling with four others-Alan Ready, Dave Adamson, Tony (Broken Rider) and Mark Carey - although more friends may join us -from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood Bay in North Yorkshire via the least amount of tarmac we can find . It is known as the Coast to Coast , but to make things more of a challenge - as if it was needed - we will be sleeping in bivvy bags ; so little comfort will be had over the 210 mile route. We will be starting on Thursday 30th April 2009 and finishing on the Monday after (hopefully)
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Stroke Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support.
