I'm not attempting to run the Marathon to acheive personal goals, break records or push myself to the limit. No - the reason I'm running it is because of The Sparkle Appeal at Victoria Education Centre and Sports College, in Poole. They specialise in providing education, care and therapy for children aged from 3-19 with physical disabilities, predominantly cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy but also children who have suffered accidents, severe illness, tumours or strokes.
The Sparkle appeal aims to raise £5 million over the next 3-5 years to provide a new therapy pool, therapy centre, life skills flat and classrooms for the children and young people that use the centre.
The students at the school face many challenges.Things we all take for granted like walking, communicating and even eating and drinking can be very difficult, so if by sponsoring me we can make their lives a little easier and more enjoyable then running the Marathon is well worth it! (Plus I get to eat lots of cakes during training!)Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Livability gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Every little helps
