Health Unlimited
Health Unlimited works in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We always prioritise the most poor and the most marginalised. This has led us to work in some very difficult environments, often providing the only external support.
Our comprehensive approach not only improves health services, but also addresses factors such as nutrition, water, sanitation, and income generation, sometimes with a particular focus on safer motherhood, and the health of children and young people. We also help prevent life-threatening diseases such as HIV, TB, malaria and incidences of diarrhoea and other dangerous infections. More recently, campaigning and advocacy have become increasingly important, so we can help improve the health of poor and marginalised people everywhere, not just where we have programmes.
For individual mothers, fathers, friends and children, all these things can mean the difference between grief and loss, or lives spent sharing, experiencing and growing old together.
Health Unlimited’s community health programmes currently serve approximately 4 million people each year (including 3.2 million indigenous people), and 14.2 million more benefit annually from our award-winning ‘edutainment’ radio soaps.

I am running in the New York Marathon on 2 November and am aiming to raise at least £1000 for Health Unlimited. 93% of the amount raised will go directly to fund health projects in some of the poorest and disadvantaged parts of the world.
