As if running 10K wasn't hard enough, its going to be pitch black at night , obstacles to get under and over and worst of all MUD !!! But we are going to give this our best shot !
Why Shelter Box ? They are a truely inspiring charity. Shelter Box provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters, at the time when they need it the most.
Many of us will never know what it like to lose everything we own, our houses our possession due to a natural disaster. But take a moment to image what that would be like !
Thankfully we only have to imagine but there are families out there who are experiencing it first hand. Shelter box provides emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families. Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, groundsheets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, mosquito nets, solar lamps, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.
Apprehensive about donating money to a charity ? Yes of course, we dont know what they do with our money, where it goes and how they use it. For all we know that £10 we donated went on Kirspy Kreme donuts! WRONG Every box bears its own unique number, and Shelter Box monitor exactly which donations are spent on which boxes. So we will get to know exactly where in the world our box goes !
