For those that don't know, my name is Nik Edmands, and i aim to help raise money and awareness for Cancer Research UK. 

Recently a very close friend of mine (Joel, 21 years of age and shown in the photo with myself) was diagnosed with Lymphoma, a form of cancer. This was obviously a very shocking time for Joel, his family and friends.

Over the years cancer has directly and indirectly affected the lives of millions of people. But, thanks to the work at Cancer Research UK and other contributing charities, the figures are dropping fast. 

On March 20th 2011 I plan on taking part in an event called the Kilomathon 2011 in Derbyshire. The 'Kilomathon' is the latest style of marathon that is 26.2 km long (16.3 miles). 

I and Joel would both greatly appreciate any amounts of donations you may wish to give. Please show you support to a great cause and a truly great friend.
