Cardiff Half Marathon 2006 · 15 October 2006 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

5/10/06 - With just over 1wk to go, I thought I give you all a wee update! Your donations just keep coming and we couldnt be more grateful! Also, I've an extra special thankyou for my friend and colleague Steve King, who has also signed up to run and who has very, very kindly agreed to help by contributing his own sponsorship from family and friends to the pot! GO STEVE! So with event day looming, I'm looking forward to seeing all those smiling faces I know will be there when I finally stagger past the finishing line. :))

7/8/06 - WOW, you guys! I've only been collecting sponsors for a few days but you've all been so amazing and smashed my £200 target already! So, we've rethought the target and with a bit of luck, your goodwill and affection for Stu will carry us even further in our bid to help Pancreatic Cancer UK and all the others who have been through or are going through what we've been through recently. Thanks again!

2/8/06 Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Stu was 61 when he passed away in April 06, 3mths after diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. He was and still is one of the best fathers, husband, son and friend you could hope for and is missed every single day by all who loved him so much. I hope running a half marathon will honour his memory and create some good out of something so awful.
