At the beginning of the year I set myself the rather ambitious goal of completing at least one half marathon and one full marathon during 2011. This for a man who never exercised but who wanted to go the extra miles to support a good cause.
RUN WITH HOPE is a charitable initiative which raises funds for the support of families with children who have physical, mental or learning difficulties. The more help you can give to support this cause, the more children and parents who lives in difficult circumstance will benefit. If you are committed to the well-being of your fellow man, if you want to put a smile back on their faces, support them as much as you can and please donate now!
I will try to finish as many races as possible in 2011. I will compete in the Kerzers 15 km Running Race, the 20 km de Lausanne and the Lausanne Marathon - all in aid of Karin Dom (Varna, Bulgaria). This is a fantastic charity dedicated to the support of children and their families who are struggling under difficult conditions. All in all, in competitive races and preparations, it is my target to complete 1500 kilometres during 2011.
It is my hope that my efforts will raise money to support those in need and will do this in loving memory of all the unfortunate children who never received the help they should have and didn’t get a proper chance in life.
Making a donation through my site is easy, quick and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me because Karin Dom will receive your money without any delays. If you are a UK taxpayer an extra 28% of your donation will be added automatically as a tax benefit ! Although my minimum target is £5000 it would be brilliant if I can raise even more for this great charity! They do an amazing job and really deserves our support.
Of course, if you’re unable to sponsor me for any reason, your prayers and best wishes during the training period and on the Race day itself are also very welcome.
