Maidenhead Boundary Walk · 4 October 2009

We aim to support the advance of education in Africa and so help young people escape poverty. To achieve this we source and deliver books, train and mentor Library Assistants, run Reading Clubs and set up Libraries where children can learn to love reading and improve their literacy skills.

Story

On the 4th October 2009, I will be walking in the Maidenhead Boundary Walk, to raise money for School Aid.

School Aid is a fantastic charity that sends books and school equipment to schools in Africa, so that the children there can benefit from an education - something that we take for granted in the UK.

I volunteered for them earlier this year when I wasn't working, as their warehouse is near Beaconsfield - and I would love to be able to raise some money for them, to help with the great work that they do.  Please do have a look at the website to see some examples of what they have achieved so far. http://www.school-aid.org/

And finally, about Maidenhead Boundary Walk - which is organised by Maidenhead Rotary Club....

This annual event allows walkers to raise money through sponsorship for their favourite charities whilst enjoying a very interesting walk through some beautiful parts of the Berkshire countryside re-tracing the old boundary of the ancient town of Maidenhead in the Royal County of Berkshire.
