Adidas Women's 5k challenge 2008 · 7 September 2008 ·

First Touch supports sick and premature babies cared for at St George’s neonatal unit in SW London. We fund state-of-the-art equipment and specialist staff training which are outside of the scope of NHS budgets, as well as a range of initiatives to support families during their stay on the unit.

Story

Welcome to our fundraising page.  Again this year a group of wonderful ladies are prepared to run, jog, walk or crawl around the Adidas Woman's 5k race in Hyde Park on September 7th in aid of the Friends of the Neonatal Unit at St George's.

Our tiny charity raises funds to support the unit at St George's Hospital in Tooting buying essential equipment to save tiny lives.

A staggering 90% of new equipment in the unit last year was funded by FNNU.  Across the country there is a shortage of neonatal beds, equipment and funding; critically ill babies are being turned away from the units closest to them because there simply are not enough beds.

Lottie was treated at St George's three and a half years ago.  Lottie was born at just 25 weeks and she is now a happy, healthy and wonderful little girl.  We simply would not have her if it wasn't for the amazing work done on the unit.

The unit at St George's is so deeply grateful to the girls for running and to you for your fabulous financial support.  Please do sponsor us if you can.

Thank you so very much.

Nicola and Lottie xx
