We help families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them

Story

Firstly, let me thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.

On Saturday 8th May 2010, Niki Benson (me), Kelly Hodson and David Benson will throw ourselves from a perfectly funtioning plane!  Actually, that's wrong, it's likely that we will be pushed, kicking and screaming considering we're all scared of heights but if you're going to face a fear of heights, 15000 feet seems like a good place to start :D

To answer the question most people have asked, "Yes, we are quite possibly mad", but there's a reason behind the madness.  Hopefully, with the help of you good people reading this, we will be able to raise a lot of money for Clic Sargent.

Clic Sargent is a fantastic charity which helps and supports children diagnosed with cancer, and their families both during and after treatment.  Please visit http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/ for more information and to read about just some of the amazing work they do.  Every day, 10 families are told that their child has cancer, that's around 4000 every year, and 50% of these children are under 5 years old.  Clic Sargent offer these families practial, emotional and financial support.  They can't take the pain away but their services help to ease the burden of caring for a child with cancer.

In addition to that, they also run the Child Cancer Foundation which dedicates itself to research into childhood cancers.  When you consider that childhood cancer kills more children in the UK than any other disease you can see how vital this research can be.

Part of the inspiration for this jump was Ted.  Ted is a very special little boy who was diagnosed with infantile Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at just 6 months old.  He is now coming up to 2 and a half years old and is winning his battle with this horrific disease.  Please take the time to watch this short video.  It's heartwrenching but I defy you not to fall in love with his smiling face.

Ted's Video

So please dig deep and spare what you can for this very worthy cause.  No amount is too small and every single penny counts.  Also, if you are a UK tax payer, please don't forget to gift aid your donation.

Thank you for reading.
