My aim is to trek the peak of Mount Sinai, Egypt (2,285 meters above sea level), where Prophet (as) Musa (Moses) spoke to Allah. It’s going to be a tough and grueling challenge, with the trek taking around 6 hours in the searing heat of the Egyptian summer, to reach the peak of the mountain.
Yes I know, I’m nuts! But it is all for a good cause. I work as a Head of a Sixth-Form in a challenging inner London school, and thought it was very important for me to support an Islamic Sixth-Form College that is desperately trying to raise funds to educate our future ummah and ‘leaders for tomorrow’. I have worked in Education for the past 6-7 years in challenging London schools and I see Islamic schools and colleges as part of the solution to tackle decades of nationwide underachievement of Muslim students.
