NLB is the second largest Braille lending library in the world. It costs £1,000 to transcribe a book into Braille. The library does not receive any regular government funding so every penny donated and raised by its supporters counts.

Story

The sponsored skydive was successfully completed on Sunday 24th April, with the weather finally holding out. It was a full on adrenaline rush from start to finish. At 12,000 feet I exited the plane with two instructors and then went through freefall for around 40 seconds till we had descended to the height of 5,000 feet, where upon I opened the parachute. It was a bit nerving to look up and see that the lines where twisted but thanks to the training I had received I was competent, and clam enough, to know what to do to rectify it. After that it was a gentle return to earth with a smooth landing. An amazing experience!

Thanks for supporting me in this challenge to raise money for the National Library for the Blind (NLB), I have received pledges totalling over £600 which is great, To make good your pledge select the Donate Now button.

Thanks again for your support in this fundraising exercise for the National Library for the Blind, a charity that really deserves all our help. Your donation will be most gratefully received
