Edinburgh Marathon 2008 · 25 May 2008 ·

St Margaret of Scotland Hospice is based in Clydebank. The Hospice was the first in Scotland and has served the localities of East and West Dunbartonshire and Northwest Glasgow for over 75 years. Our commitment to dignity, respect and a truly holistic approach encompasses all that we do.

Story

We're colleagues at the National Library of Scotland and we did the Marathon Relay on 25 May to raise money for the St Margaret of Scotland Hospice.  Tragically, our friend and colleague, Alan Docherty, died just three days after the event.  He suffered a great deal but bore himself with dignity and real inner strength - he was an inspiration to the runners and also to everyone else who came into contact with him.

It's even more important now to keep raising funds to support the hospice's wonderful work and you can still help.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: St Margaret of Scotland Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
