I've decided to honour my dad's memory and raise some more money for the Sam Beare Hospice in Weybridge by refraining from bitching or gossiping for a whole month.

Anyone who knows me will know that this is a HUGE personal challenge. I will have a "bitch jar" where every time I slip up I put a pound of my own money in which will be collected and added to the total fund at the end of the month. I will do this from April 15th to May 15th during which time I will keep a "negativity journal" to write down any thoughts and burn at the end of the month so that I don't explode. I'll also be keeping track of my feelings and things that I learn from the experience.

So why am I doing this? I wanted to find a way to continue to support the amazing hospice that took such incredible care of my father in his final months. He passed away in February last year aged 59 and losing him has been the single most difficult and life-changing events of my life so far. Without the support of the hospice, I don't know what we would have done as a family. 

I'm not at all athletic and running a marathon isn't a realistic prospect for me, and cutting my hair off would have broken my dad's heart but he HATED bitching and gossiping, so I thought this would be a great way to remember him. I'm sure he'll be looking down on me and laughing hysterically, but hopefully for a month the world will be a more positive place for it and hey, I may even learn something about tolerance and respect. 

Here are a few things you can do to support me:

1. DONATE! It's for a fricking AMAZING cause, Sam Beare saved us at the worst time of our lives, there are no words to describe what they do for terminally ill patients. 

2. Refrain from contacting me between those dates with any juicy gossip or complaints. Write it down and save it for later or tell somebody else.

3. Join in and start your own page! If we're in it together it might not be the longest month of my life.
