MEDICS is an accident and emergency doctor service - The Mid Essex Doctors Immediate Care Scheme -which operates under the nationwide "BASICS" organisation. MEDICS Doctors are called out by ambulance control centres to provide emergency medical intervention at road traffic accidents, airport/ rail emergencies, agricultural/industrial accidents, fires, leisure injuries and medical emergencies.

Story

I am running my 19th London marathon since 1993 - the trouble is, I have done very little training - in fact I have only managed around 35 miles in total over the last two months. nevertheless, I will be there on the startline and hope to be there not only at the finish, but for a few beers aftrwards as well. I will not be breaking any records (other than perhaps the reddest face / most tired legs) but I do hope to raise some much needed funds for MEDICS, who do some sterling work, all on an entirely voluntary basis and supported only by donations.

Thank you for donating - by the way, my number is 42730 should you wish to check the results (best leave it until late on Sunday evening to do that, or I will not have finished.......)

Thanks and take it easy - John T
