Story

My world was turned upside in May 2009 when I lost my amazing and beautiful Mum to cancer.

Mum's final weeks were spent in Sue Ryder Care in Nettlebed and was cared for by the most special people who made Mum as comfortable and as happy as possible. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The kindness they showed Mum and the support they offered the whole family was amazing.

Since then, I am commited to raising money for the hospice so that it may continue to help other people like Mum and support other families like mine.

Since 2011, therefore, I have been running in a number of big races in return for your kind offers of sponsorship. In 2011, my fundraising started with the Silverstone half marathon in March and culminated in the Disney Wine & Dine half marathon in Orlando seven months later. In between I completed various other long distance races including an 18-mile Olympic Running Challenge in July.

In 2012 I completed five half marathons, a parkrun charity challenge (two parkruns on the same morning, either side of a 35km bike ride) and three Race for Life runs in the space of 24 hours. Not bad considering that, for most of the year, I was pregnant!

My 2013 included seven half marathons plus my first full marathon as well as a host of other shorter races.

My fundraising challenge continues in earnest throughout 2014, starting with the Silverstone half marathon on 2 March.

Due to recurring injuries that have disrupted my training in recent years, I won't be tempting fate by listing all the races I plan to run for Sue Ryder Care until the last minute. Instead I will add to the following list throughout the course of year as and when a race approaches.

Please reward my efforts by sponsoring me. Every penny goes straight to Sue Ryder Care to enable it to continue looking after amazing people like Mum.
