Fundraising for British Heart Foundation
Story
Welcome to my fundraising page, I'm hoping to raise over £3,800 for the British Heart Foundation and to do this I am going to fly out to Tanzania and climb the 19,000ft to the 'Roof of Africa', Kilimanjaro.
I am doing this to raise awareness for the work the BHF undertakes. Recently my partners father and a good friend of mine suffered a heart attack and without the advances the BHF have made due to charity work such as this things could have been different.
The Event starts on Sept the 3rd 2011 and I will climb over 8 days to the summit of Kilimanjaro with temperatures dipping as low as -28c at the summit. The trip will incorporate 100km of hiking at high altitudes. With the atmospheric pressure at half of sea level the main obstacle I will face will be a battle with altitude sickness. But without your donations none of this will be possible so please give generously and enjoy the thought of me struggling up Africa's highest mountain.
Any help towards making this happen and raising the remaining funds is much appreciated. Remember every pound counts towards that magic figure and it all goes to a good cause.
