My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Expedition

Amelia and Dan are heading out from the northern coast of Canada in late February 2010 aiming to ski and snowshoe to the geographic North Pole. This journey will take about 60 days to cover the 500+ miles distance during which time we will be totally self-sufficient (an "unsupported" expedition). As well having to haul all of our gear - over 300kg of it - we'll have to deal with open water, polar bears, extreme cold and other challenges. It should be quite a trip!

There is more information, including a regular blog, on our website www.northpolechallenge.co.uk

Our Charity

We are raising funds for Help for Heroes, a charity dedicated to supporting wounded British servicemen and servicewomen. Help for Heroes contributes funds to develop hospitals and rehabilitation centers dedicated to wounded British troops. The charity's current focus is to create a series of regional Recovery Houses to be built across the UK and serve as the last stage of rehabilitation before a serviceman, or woman, returns to their unit of transits back into civilian life. Read more at www.helpforheroes.org.uk

We hope you are to give generously and support this charity. With thanks.
