My personal message:

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DATE HAS NOW BEEN CONFIRMED AS SUNDAY MAY 4TH AS THE RUN IS BEING DONE ON IPSWICH TOWN'S  LAST HOME MATCH.

I am doing this to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. At Ipswich Town’s last home game next season V Hull City, I will be donning my shorts and running 40 plus miles to raise money for MS.

I've never even run for a bus before. The last time I got any serious exercise was in PE lessons at school. And that was 25 odd years ago! Now I'm getting up every day at 5 a.m. to go for a run before work. And I've had to knock the beer on the head. I must be mad!

The hard work will all be worthwhile if I succeed in raising £5,000 for The MS Society. My friend and ex Ipswich Town & England footballer Kevin Beattie’s wife sadly suffers from MS and the charity has been a constant support ever since.

I will be running to Hintlesham Hall on the day before the game and stay overnight to recover before completing the final few miles to the ground on match day.

When Kevin agreed to become President of our New Supporters Club in Haverhill, he told me that he wanted to raise funds for MS to say thank you to the Society and so this is one of many events I am trying to organise to do just that. Kevin is a lifelong hero of mine and I am proud to be able to help him in this way.

I hope that all Ipswich Town fans and all other football fans, along with all who knows me will sponsor if they can. Even a few pounds will make a huge difference and mean The MS Society can continue their invaluable work supporting families like Kevin’s.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: MS Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
