Story

Thanks for visiting this page. Following in the footsteps (literally) of a good friend of mine, for the whole of November I will not be wearing any shoes. Call me crazy (and that's fine!) but I want to raise awareness for the 1.4 billion people who in the world that live in extreme poverty.

I've encountered people in developing countries who didn't own shoes, let alone basic human rights that we take for granted such as basic healthcare and sanitation. This is not okay!

So I'm asking you to donate money to Tearfund and there are 1.4 billion reasons for you to donate because 1.4 billion people living on less than 77 pence a day. The Global Poverty Project have a lot of helpful info if you need more convincing: http://www.globalpovertyproject.com/pages/presentation

So where will your money go? Here is what Tearfund are doing to help alleviate world poverty: http://www.tearfund.org/en/about_us/what_we_do_and_where/

Why am I doing this? Primarily, it's because I follow a guy called Jesus and He was always doing crazy things because he loved the poor. Also, I want to experience just a small taste of how it feels to be 'without'.

So if you share my heart for seeing people lifted out of poverty, then please please donate to tearfund on this page!

 Love and peace. Sarah x
