The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

I first heard about The Prince’s Trust in an interview with actor Idris Elba, the star of my favourite TV shows The Wire and Luther

He talked about his tough upbringing in Hackney, and said
that as a youngster, he struggled to stay in school. At 15 was on the verge of becoming homeless and felt his life options were really limited. Elba said he got into acting after receiving a £1,500 grant from The Prince’s Trust to sign up for after-school acting classes to keep him out of trouble.

The Prince's Trust is a youth charity that helps young people aged 13 to 30 get into jobs, education and training.

I thought a charity that unlocked the talents of a near-homeless teenager, and set him on the path to international fame, certainly is deserving of my support too.

I want to help other young people achieve their full potential.
