Oksana and Katia · 12 June 2012

Chernobyl Children's Lifeline has rebranded as CCLL - The Helping Hand for Ukraine and we prioritize help for children and their families in the northern areas of the country who are suffering from the ongoing conflict. We carry out our work without any political affiliation or bias.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you will know, I have two girls from Ukraine staying with me through Chernobyl Children's Life Line this month.

Oksana (11) and Katia (10) are two amazing and loving girls who like in the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster.  Bringing them to the UK for the month will make a huge difference to their immune systems simply by breathing in clean air and eating food which is not contaminated.

A good friend of mine, Lorraine Brown, who is also helping with the girls in June can also see the huge benefits this would bring to the girls and so we are organising this as a joint venture.

Chernobyl Children's Life Line (although not organising the trip) have managed to get a quote for £954.18 (they negotiate the flights with the airline and bring them over at cost) to bring the girls over in December, which includes their visa's, flights, transportation in Ukraine and the unaccompanied minor charge on the flights.

To be able to make this happen we need to raise the £954.18 to cover these costs.

Flights:                                                    £ 255.59 x 2
Visa's                                                     £   87.00 x 2
Travel in Ukraine:                                    £   30.00 x 2
Unaccompanied Minor charge (by airline) £ 100.00 x 2

If you would like to help towards making this possible we would be very grateful for any donation, no matter how small.

Since starting this page we have had confirmation that another child who came in June is able to return, his name is Nikita and he is 11.  This brings the costs to £1,431.18 for the transport alone, clothing and emergency provisions to be sent back to the Ukraine are addittional to this.

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts, Jo and Lorraine

Please note that this is a private return trip organised by Lorraine Brown and myself via CCLL and is not part of an organised trip.
