<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">My mum, Susie Jones, has been bravely battling cancer for a few years now. Although everyone would say this about their mum, Susie is one of the most generous and giving people in this world and has spent her life looking after other people as a sports physiotherapist.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span>As well as mending broken rugby players, she also has worked for many years, voluntarily, on the finish line of the London Marathon as a physio helping weary runners recuperate after their 26 miles.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span>So if you’ve run the London marathon in the last 15 years or so it’s quite likely you will have come across her or a member of the team she organises at your most weary!</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">Target Ovarian Cancer is a national UK charity that exists to improve the survival and the quality of life of women with ovarian cancer in the UK. The charity has made a difference supporting Susie, and many others, fighting to beat this terrible disease. Some of your money will also go into research to beat the disease and awareness to catch it early.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">As for my marathon run; whilst I started with good training intentions the arrival of baby Sophia in early March has thrown a spanner in the works and my training regime has been severely affected.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In fact, I've only made it out on one run in 6 weeks! I'll therefore be a great case study to see what happens when a relatively active bloke just gets up on a Sunday morning and decides they are going for a very, very long run!</span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;"> Determination and your support will help me get through it!</span></span></span></span></p>
