Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

At the end of last year I decided that it was my turn to do something to raise vital funds for The Cystic Fibrosis trust.  My inspiration is my lovely boy Oli who has CF.  Oli takes it very much in his stride that he has to have at least 2 sessions of physio a day before and after school, 3 nebulisers and take at least 30 tablets a day including antibiotics, antacids and enzymes.  I still can't quite believe that my "something" I chose to do is a skydive. I will be flying to 14000 feet and free falling at 120 mph for 30 seconds before the lovely man strapped to my back opens the parachute.  Well it will be an added bonus if he is lovely but as long as he opens the chute I don't much care.  I am jumping as part of the Barnes Boys Skydive with 21 other mad men and women.  I am joined by two lovely young men firstly my cousin and Oli's godfather Ben who did a long distance bike ride last year and despite being afraid of heights has bravely agreed to hold one of my hands. Holding the other is Ollie Roberts "Big Ollie" who has become like a member of our family over the last year and whom "little Oli" loves dearly. This is Big Ollie's first fundraiser for CF but he has been so touched by Oli unique personality and zest for life that I get the feeling it wont be his last and we are very grateful.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease
Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food.

Lung transplantation is often necessary as CF worsens.

Average life expectancy is around 31 years, and, although improvements in treatments mean a baby born today could expect to live for longer, there is no cure for CF. Most individuals with cystic fibrosis die young: many in their 20s and 30s from lung failure.

Each week, three young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.
